SheBuilds 2019 was a massive success! Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community members for making this program possible. Please enjoy this video from our friends at OKCGOOD who captured some really special moments from the program.

Women across the country are working hard to make ends meet,
yet one in seven women live in poverty and unsafe homes. We’re here to change that. Are you in?

Join Rebuilding Together Oklahoma City’s third annual female-led community impact initiative! Participating in the SheBuilds initiative connects you to a national movement of empowering women to become change-makers in their communities. Please note that this is an inclusive event for all.

Main Event

For 27 years we’ve repaired over 3,000 homes with over 73% being women-owned homes and 90% being women of color.

We’re excited to announce that on September 9-14 we’ll be in the 73114 area, repairing and remodeling three homes for women in the community! SheBuilds isn’t just about home repairs- it’s about getting women from all over OKC civically-engaged in their own communities.

Sign up as a volunteer to work on one of the 3 homes!

Learn skills for your own DIY projects at home!

We’re holding our annual free SheBuilds workshop at our office (945 Wilshire Blvd, OKC, OK 73116) on August 24th. We’ll teach you power tool basics as well as how to perform common home repairs.

Our #SheBuilds workshops are now OPEN! This 5-part workshop will cover basic repair & construction skills that you and the independent women in your life will definitely find beneficial. Feel confident tackling your own projects at home and even passing on these skills at an affordable cost! Our skilled instructors will cover the following areas:

Hand tools and measuring
Power tools
Painting and drywall repair
Electrical 101
Plumbing 101

We will have an 8:30 class and a 12:30 class at our warehouse location on 945 W. Wilshire Blvd! This workshop is intended for women, but girls and boys are also welcome (must be at least 14 years of age with a guardian’s signed permission). If you are interested in signing up for a workshop, please follow the link below. Be sure to act fast, as we only have a limited space for each workshop! Light refreshments will be provided.

Upon concluding our SheBuilds Main Event, Crossings Community Center has generously offered to host a leadership luncheon to celebrate the success of SheBuilds! We are proud to announce that our National Rebuilding Together Director Caroline Blakely and Calm Waters Executive Director Erin Engelke will be our guest speakers at this year’s luncheon! This is scheduled to take place on October 10th at 11:30am at Crossings Community Center & Clinic: 10255 N Pennsylvania Ave, The Village, OK 73120. Single tickets are $75 and tables to seat 8 are $500.  Registration begins at 11:30am and the program starts at 12pm.

Is this a women-only event?
No! In 2018, 73% of the homes repaired by Rebuilding Together OKC were owned by women, 90% of which were women of color. This is why we’re hosting a luncheon with community members to highlight the importance of women taking leadership roles in making a difference for themselves and other women in the communities in which we live. So in short, all are welcome to participate but we’re inviting women to step up and lead the pack!

How old do I need to be to volunteer?

Age 14 and older.

I’ve never fixed anything!

No problem! Every year we provide a FREE workshop to give you the home repair skills before the big day and have some other fun events along the way! But….we’ll warn you after you learn these skills you’ll want to fix/build everything!

Is workshop attendance required for SheBuilds OKC event participation?
While not required, it’s highly encouraged that you attend. We promise it will be a good time!
