9th Annual Rebuilding Together Construction Derby

Vehicles constructed of materials or components commonly used to make home modifications and repairs for elderly homeowners will compete in the Annual Rebuilding Together Construction Derby.

DATE: Sunday, September 30, 2012

TIME: Time trials – 11:30 am, Races Begin – 2:00 pm

LOCATION: The “No Motor Speedway” NW 5th Street between Walker and Shartel

CLASSES: Professional or Amateur

Professional Class – The two main criteria for Professional Class are aerodynamics and high speed wheels and tires.

Amateur Class – If a vehicles is built with materials that are less sophisticated, or has items that create more drag, then it is more likely to belong in the Amateur Class. If a previous Amateur Class car has won 2 years in a row, it will automatically be moved to the Professional Class

**Ultimately, if there is a question to class, the Race Directors will have the final vote.

TEAMS: A team may have a maximum of 6 members (1 driver and 5 crew).

RACE: A limited push start of vehicles will be allowed. Two vehicles per heat as determined by timed trials. Double elmination racing. A vehicle must cross the finish line under its own power.

PRIZES: The winner of each class (Professional and Amateur) will race for the Grand Prize – winners preference of NASCAR Spirit Cup Series Race Tickets (2 tickets per team member) OR a $200 gift care to Lowe’s per team member.

The runner-up will win NASCAR Nationwide Series Race Tickets (2 tickets per team member) OR a $110 gift card to Lowe’s per team member.

Trophies and Prizes for Second and Third Places

Unique Trophies will also be given in 6 categories in each class: Best Use of Accessories and in Keeping with the RT Mission * Team Spirit * Best Dressed Pit Crew * Best Entry Name * Turtle * Most Creative
